The new store in Diss, was one of the original environmental concept food stores, trialing numerous environmental measures with the aim of increasing the retailers "green" credentials. Notably was the inclusions of several wind turbines along the frontage, and north facing rooflights to increase natural daylighting within the sales areas.
Additionally, located within a flood plain, remediation measures included ensuring the site drained towards the adjacent river, and providing voids below the store for flood water.
