BIRTLEY PUBLIC EXHIBITION

Proposals for a new Morrisons foodstore and associated High Street shops in Birtley have just been preented to the public at an open exhibition. The scheme aims to regenerate the High Street by replacing redundant and vacant buildings with this new stilted store in the town centre, along with ancilliary shops adressing the street frontage. Feedback from the public has been overwhelmingly supportive, and we will be working up the scheme in more detail in the New Year in conjunction with Morrisons and the Local Authority.
