SAINSBURYS IN EDINBURGH

23rd December,2011

Outline planning consent was granted earlier in the year for a stilted foodstore and petrol filling station on this brownfield site in Edinburgh alongside the Water of Leith. The scheme is for a \"stilted\" foodstore and petrol filling station on this vacant site containing derelict retail and factory premises.

Since obtaining outline consent, Sainsburys have now come on board, and the proposlas have been particularised for their requirements, culminating in the submission of a reserved matters planning application to the City of Edinburgh Council. It is hoped to be granted planning consent early in 2012, with works commencing on site as soon after as possible.
