RETROFIT FOR THE FUTURE

During 2009 – 2010, the Technology Strategy Board implemented a £17m programme known as Retrofit for the Future, to kick-start the retrofitting of the UK\\\'s social housing stock.  see the web page for more details - http://www.retrofitforthefuture.org/search.php?s=cottesmore

East Midlands Housing put forward two properties for the funding, with the Cottesmore Road scheme being successful. The Property is a mid terraced  2 up 2 down Victorian pavement terrace with side passage and solid brick wall. Within the project we are installing high levels of insulation and air-tightness internally including solar thermal hot water heating, MVHR and Wattbox adaptive controls. The property will be fully refurbished incorporating low energy lighting and appliances. The existing roof will be removed and an off site \\\'pod\\\' construction lowered into the roof space with tolerances of 50mm to all sides, this will form a new bedroom within the roof space.
